This is the time of year that everyone loves… but everyone misses. These few weeks of advent pass most people by because, well, they’re busy. There’s finals, social events, gifts, holiday entertainment, and looking ahead. Lately I have been wondering about what will come in the new year——spring break, trips with girlfriends, tennis season, graduation, saying goodbye to my best friends and family, and strangest of all… moving to a foreign city. It’s hard not to think about it since it’ll be coming our way in what feels like no time at all.
But here’s where the true challenge lies: don’t worry about anything, instead pray about everything. Don’t live in the past or the future; be present.
Sooooooo much easier said than done. This season is meant to keep us waiting, and we’re supposed to find a certain peace from it. There’s no rush to get life moving; we have to find the little reasons to smile and enjoy where we’re at now. And as hard as that is, if we all decide to work on this, we will grow together and find joy in the season that’s full of hope, awe, and wonder.
