If you’re like me and love beautiful, well-designed books on any topic, you will appreciate this one: Fashionable Selby by Todd Selby. The creative ambassador at Barneys New York, Selby, interviewed the better side of forty fashion designers about their studios, inspirations, and careers. Each artist also answered an assortment of questions by hand, and Selby included their responses within their profiles. Their different handwriting and drawing styles are incredible to compare to one another; each person is so different.
The book has such a unique style, which I pay attention to, as I always keep an eye out for the layout & format of publications (the inner yearbook editor & graphic designer in me can’t help themselves). The photos of work spaces and designers are so professional and spunky; it makes the book that much better.
I captured some of my favorite elements of the book alongside some doodling I worked on for a project and some random brainstorming ideas in my fav sketchbook.
